Facilitating a Cross-Sector Exploration of Emerging Food Trends

Horizon21c Conference for Illinois Agri-Food Alliance (ILAFA)

ILAFA, a statewide coalition of agri-food organizations from the private, public, and nonprofit sectors, brought together its network in 2018 for the inaugural HORIZON21c conference, which featured presentations and discussions about the new and future food consumer. Foresight contributed event design, planning, and facilitation, creating an engaging and informative experience for attendees.

The purpose of HORIZON21C was to bring together stakeholders representing the full agri-food supply chain to discuss emerging trends in consumer food preferences, including transparency, sourcing, and dietary and health needs. Panelists ranged from corporate leaders to restaurateurs to dieticians, and nearly 100 attendees from leading companies and organizations were given the opportunity to connect with their peers. Foresight collaborated with ILAFA staff and board members to define the event topic and agenda, execute outreach to attendees and speakers, coordinate logistics, and facilitate panel and attendee discussions.
