Building a Foundation for Impactful Collaboration Across State Lines

Illinois’ successful Millennium Reserve initiative sought to transition to a bi-state collaborative, with the goal of realizing equitable sustainable development across the Calumet region. Foresight was invited to design and facilitate the strategic planning process, which began with an effort to build authentic relationships with Indiana agencies and nonprofits and examine the potential for greater collaboration. 

Over the course of three large stakeholder meetings, Foresight designed productive sessions that built consensus on the need for a bi-state collaborative; aligned stakeholders’ perspectives around a shared vision for change; and co-developed goals, strategies, and indicators to realize that vision.
