Lake County Forest Preserves is seeking a temporary Environmental Education Instructor to work one weekend day per week and some evenings. The Environmental Education Instructor will teach programs for: school groups, scouts, summer day camps, and public programs. Program topics may include voyageurs, lake or fish ecology, prairies, food chain, nature restoration, animal adaptations, and geology.  Instructors develop activities and programs and maintain a collection of herps and raptors. This position interacts in many ways with the public.

Requirements:

  • Two years of course work in biology, natural resources, education or a related field.
  • Teaching experience preferred.
  • Must have enthusiasm and respect for people, teaching, and the environment.
  • Ability to be flexible and work with a variety of personalities and work environments.
  • Must possess a valid Drivers’ License.
