Responsibilities:
Responsible for the planning, development, and coordination of marketing communications, including development of Arboretum marketing plans, publications, promotional literature, paid advertising and all web-based communications. Responsible for creating and implementing the Arboretum’s marketing plans that support mission oriented efforts as well as audience development marketing. Work closely with business units across the Arboretum to enhance their marketing efforts to effectively share information and brand the Arboretum to various external audiences.
Qualifications:
Previous Training and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in marketing required with a Master’s preferred with at least 8 years of experience in marketing, communications, advertising agency, or related experience required. Familiarity working with non-profit organizations is a plus. Proven experience in developing and implementing integrated marketing communication strategies with strong background in web-based marketing. Track record in collaborating with copywriters and graphic designers to guide the creative development process. Proven experience in web and email marketing. Adept at Windows based computer systems – proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Working knowledge of CMS, HTML and InDesign a plus.
Physical/Mental Requirements:
Excellent writing, verbal, interpersonal, and organizational skills are needed to meet fast, varied and multiple turn-around time requirements. Effective project management skills and ability to balance short and long-term priorities to complete projects on time and within budget with minimal supervision. Strong presentation skills to communicate and persuade a wide range of audiences. Must demonstrate dedication to the Arboretum and its mission, and maintain flexibility in work schedule, including regular weekend and evening hours. Strong attention to detail with the ability to multi-task, and to develop and implement strategies and implement successful project outcomes. Positive, energetic and outgoing attitude with a strong work ethic is essential.
